Ice jams worry West Fargo leaders
West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - West Fargo homeowners are learning what their city has planned for the upcoming flood fight.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
About 50 people came to a meeting tonight to see if West Fargo is as concerned as Fargo and Moorhead. The city is better protected from river and overland flooding because of the Sheyenne Diversion.
Still, rain, snow, and ice jams worry leaders. They don't anticipate any problems except for some homes along the river.
“We would only be looking at some sandbags and levees if in fact we had some ice issues or if there are some individual properties along the river where say a bank has sloughed in or failed.”
The city has set up a flood hotline you can call with questions or concerns. That number is 701-433-5400.
