Red River flood warnings issued
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Red River at Fargo and Wahpeton. The river over the weekend is expected to rise above flood stage in both cities. Only minor flooding is forecast in Wahpeton, but the river in Fargo-Moorhead is expected to rise nearly a foot in the next week and cause moderate flooding.

The river over the weekend is expected to rise above flood stage in both cities. Only minor flooding is forecast in Wahpeton, but the river in Fargo-Moorhead is expected to rise nearly a foot in the next week and cause moderate flooding.
Major flood stage in Fargo-Moorhead is 30 feet. The weather service said the river was expected to hit 28.2 feet by next Friday morning.
Last spring the Red hit a record 40.84 feet in the neighboring cities.
An overland flood warning also was in effect Friday for Cass and Richland counties in southeast North Dakota, and the northwest Minnesota counties of Clay, Norman and Wilkin.
