Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - No arrests are expected in a bomb scare that forced a Fargo school and nearby homes to be evacuated. The suspicious items turned out to be what's believed to be science projects from South Campus Two.

Police continue to investigate the incident that shut down the school and blocks of busy road, including University Drive. As of tonight, they say nothing else in this case is suspicious.

A teacher found the item in a garbage can outside the southeast entrance around three this afternoon. It turned out to be a car that looked like a homemade candle with a wick.

The bomb squad robot detonated it as a precaution. Authorities then looked at another package found that was a box with wires. It's not known who the items belonged to.

“It will be unknown whether or not charges will be filed, but everything that we've seen so far doesn't lead us to believe that any type of crime has been committed.”

The school used its emergency response plan. Students and staff were cleared from classrooms, told to go into lockdown in the gym, and then evacuated once the school day ended. Parents were notified of the situation.
