Crookston college hit hard with budget deficit
(WDAY TV) - Minnesota's budget deficit is hitting the University of Minnesota system hard and its Crookston campus is definitely feeling the impact.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
U-M-C is facing budget cuts of about 560 thousand dollars for the next school year to help the school isn't filling some open positions. Students will feel the cuts too. Tuition will increase 7-percent.
"Staff will have to do a little bit extra here and there, but we really did try to target it so that we don't affect the academic programs, so the quality we're really striving to maintain that academic quality."
U-M-C administrators will be finalizing cut suggestions and having another budget meeting in the Twin Cities tomorrow.
