Florida man wants to turn alligator wrestling into an extreme sport
(WDAY TV) - An alligator wrestler in Florida is hoping to turn the tradition into an extreme sport with international competitors and a global audience.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
James Holt is a Seminole Indian and says alligator wrestling is a tribal tradition. Wrestlers have to jump in deep-water pool with a 10-minute timed session with an alligator.
Competitors are scored in 6 different categories including: aggressiveness of the alligator, difficulty of the move, style, appearance, showmanship and water wrangling.
Holt's family founded a competition and hopes that alligator enthusiasts from all over the world will join in.
