Facebook group supports "Extreme Makeover" for deputy shot while on duty
(WDAY TV) - There's a new group on Facebook, rallying behind former Mahnomen County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Dewey.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
Nearly 35-thousand people have joined the group, urging the ABC show "Exteme Makeover: Home Edition" to build the Dewey's a new home.
Dewey, who was shot while on duty last year, is continuing to recover and needs an accessible home. Chris and his wife Emily rented a home in Mahnomen at the time, but now they can't get a mortgage to buy their own home.
The Deweys are staying with Emily's parent in Cambridge, Minnesota.
