UND student government members raise money for Haiti
(WDAZ TV) - It may seem like a world away, but to students on the UND campus, the message coming out of Haiti hits close to home: help needed in a time of crisis.By: WDAZ Staff Reports, WDAZ
During the Men's and Women's Basketball games today, several groups from the UND student government to Greek Life worked to raise money for Haiti.
The big-ticket item: an autographed Sydney Crosby jersey and a Team USA helmet signed by members of the Women's USA Olympic Team including the Lamarioux twins.
"There is a lot of support just surrounding the community and this is just a great event. It does not matter how far away you are as long as people are out there helping. We do not have to save the world, just make a sincere contribution."
The goal today was to raise between ten and fifteen thousand dollars.
