(WDAY TV) - Volunteers are learning what it will take to continue to respond to the flood and if water should get into neighborhoods. The Salvation Army in Fargo held its National Disaster Training Session.

The eight hour course is an introduction to the services the agency offers, a basic training of sorts. Volunteers find out what it means to be deployed, their expectations, and how the nonprofit operates.

"It excites me to see that we have 20 people in there today taking this class. It tells me the level of commitment that they're willing to make to do what we do in the community."

To volunteer, call the Salvation Army at 701-232-5565.
