Arrest of man charged with the Grand Forks Herald gun case turns into 6-hour stand-off
Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - The man arrested and charged in the Grand Forks Herald gun case, did not go quietly. He kept police at bay for 6-hours.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
Police tried to arrest 22-year old Philip Manaigre for leaving a loaded gun in the newspaper's building. It turned into a 6-hour standoff in the Columbia Court Trailer Park. A negotiator and SWAT team members were called to help.
Police finally shot out his windows with beanbags, used tear gas and broke down his door.
“Once the door was breached, the suspect was standing in the entry way and he complied with officers orders and was taken into custody without incident and without injury.”
Manaigre could face other charges for the standoff.
