Squirrels make first appearance in four decades
(WDAY Sports) - The state B girl’s basketball tournament gets underway later today in Minot, and one team is making its first appearance in four decades!By: Dom Izzo, WDAY
Central Cass is back for the first time since 1974. They finally got over the hump and beat rival Hankinson for the region title last week.
The Squirrels are ranked 4th in the state and say they're tough schedule got them ready for this weekend.
“We went out played Linton and beat them, and so we full we're just as good as anybody in the state. So that's how we're going to prepare.”
“Our defense lets us have fun and let us do whatever we want on offense because it all starts with defense. We all play so well together that we all just know what's going to happen next.”
The Squirrels face another one of my favorite North Dakota nicknames, the Honkers from Kenmare, at 1:00.
