Stutsman County approves switching paved roads to gravel
(WDAY TV) - Stutsman County is going ahead with plans to turn some paved roads into gravel. Commissioners have approved the change.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
The first stretch of road to change will be an 8 mile portion of Highway 10 near Cavendish. After flooding last spring, many county roads were damaged and the county didn't have the funds to repair them and voters turned down a tax increase to pay for the cost.
The county has 233 miles of paved roads, but officials say they only have enough money to maintain 50 miles.
