ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) — St. Cloud State forward Aaron Marvin has been suspended for three games for an illegal hit.

Marvin will miss the Huskies' final regular-season series against Minnesota State-Mankato and their first playoff game, under the suspension announced by the WCHA on Monday.

Marvin was suspended for shoulder-to-face contact with Wisconsin captain Blake Geoffrion on Feb. 20. Referees on the ice did not call a penalty.

The St. Cloud Times reported that the suspension might not have been as severe if not for his previous suspension for a hit from behind on North Dakota captain Chay Genoway Nov. 12. Genoway has yet to return from the resulting concussion.

WCHA commissioner Bruce McLeod told the newspaper that incident was one of several factors involved.
