Fergus Falls, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Fergus Falls Police and the B-C-A continue to investigate the suspicious death of a 29-year-old woman killed by a gunshot wound. Police say one other person was at the scene when the gun went off, but how it happened or who pulled the trigger isn't known.

Police are still piecing together some mysteries from the shooting death that happened here at lake view estates, trying to find out if it was accidental or murder. Police say the owner of this mobile home where the shooting happened was having a gathering Friday night with around 12 people.

During the party police say the suspect pulled out a gun and was handling it carelessly. That's when the victim took the weapon from him, police say it was then later in the night when everything went wrong and what happened is still unclear to them.

"He went to try and retrieve the firearm from her. They were in another part of the residence and nobody else was there just the two of them so we're trying to piece things together to find out what happened but the gun did discharge striking the female victim in the chest, killing her."

Police say the suspect has been cooperative and is not in custody. Police tell us they are looking into whether the man was trying to kill himself and the victim was trying to talk him out of doing so. He denies that. The victim's body has been taken to Ramsey County for an autopsy.

The Fergus Falls Daily Journal created a link to a Facebook site where messages can be seen about the victim and what happened. Friends of the victim are leaving notes, missing Mandy Kemmer.

One reads "heaven is for angels, all my love". Another says "my heart and love goes out to the beautiful life she created and the hearts she touched. You are a true angel that had a beautiful life with no regrets! Love you." WDAY 6 News reached out to Mandy's family but they declined to comment on her death.
