Shakopee man dies in NE Minn. snowmobile crash

NASHWAUK, Minn. (AP) - A Shakopee man is dead after a snowmobile crash in northeastern Minnesota.

The Itasca County sheriff's office says 67-year-old Charles Russell Alley was driving his snowmobile on the Mount Eide trail north of Nashwauk Saturday afternoon when his sled left the trail and hit a tree.

Alley was taken to University Medical Center in Hibbing, where he died.
