Senate hearing addresses concerns over Devil's Lake

That would effect flooding and water quality downstream.
An official senate field hearing in West Fargo, addressed concerns over releasing more Devil's Lake water in the Sheyenne to help because that would mean increasing allowable sulfate levels in the river.
Mayors of riverside communities are trying to come to an agreement. Some asking for money if sulfate content reach certain levels.
“Frustration with the weather and frustration with the water. It's to the point where when there's any forecast for moisture, it's fearful.”
To help other cities get on board, Governor John Hoeven says North Dakota will work with them to help build water treatment plants as they did in Valley City. He says he plans to draw from state and federal funding.
