Registered high-risk sex offender faces 6 felonies

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Wishek man who is a registered high-risk sex offender faces six felony charges for allegedly trying to rape a girl younger than 6 years old, fighting with a deputy and pointing a loaded shotgun at three people.

Bond has been set at $500,000 cash for 23-year-old Owen Adams.

Authorities say Adams pointed the shotgun at two family members and the deputy Monday night, and that Adams and the deputy struggled over the gun before the deputy was able to place him under arrest.

Attempted gross sexual imposition and simple assault of a peace officer are among the charges filed against Adams. He has not yet entered pleas.
