Manufacturer showcases sandbag tube machine
West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Imagine if one person could fill and stack lay 120 sandbags per minute. It would save a lot of time and labor and it's possible. With the CAS TR30, you only have to lay one sandbag, because it keeps going and going and going!
The manufacturer says the machine lays one foot of this sandbag tube per second, and can stack as high as you want. This high speed conveyor belt, adapted to hold sand, costs 428-thousand dollars or 50-thousand to rent per month.
Leaders from Fargo, West Fargo, Oakport and Cass County watched a demonstration of how this machine could supplement traditional sandbagging.
Arlen Rexius/CAS President: “The way it's done is so primitive. It's like a giant caulking machine.”
Cass County Engineer Keith Berndt says it's obvious the machine works; they just have to decide whether or not it makes economic sense to invest in one. Tomorrow, leaders will get a look at several new equipment options as over a dozen distributors are invited to showcase their machines at the Civic Center.
