Fargo, ND (WDAY Sports) - The football coaching fraternity is a small one and today we're reminded of that again as NDSU has found its new secondary coach.
It’s McPherson College Head Coach Brian Ward. Ward led the Bulldogs to a 17-14 record over the past three seasons, including a 9-2 record in 2009.
The NDSU connection is Ward and Bison Defensive Coordinator Scott Hazelton both worked at Missouri Southern State in 2005 and Ward knows the struggles of the Bison secondary from last season.
“I've seen the Bison take a huge dip in their ability to defend the pass last year. Hopefully I can take my experience and that's the area I feel most comfortable in coaching. Hopefully I can have a good impact on the bison this year and in the future.”
After this hire, NDSU still has wide receiver and defensive line openings.
