Late this afternoon, the families of 20-year old John Cadotte and 25-year old Megan Londo were told of their deaths, victims of murder. The two did not live in the apartment but were staying there while the tenant was out of town. Megan of White Earth leaves behind two boys; 8 and 2.
“We are conducting a homicide investigation our evidence has burned in many cases.”
Tonight, authorities want to talk with 39-year old Tracy Zorenes who is being called a person of interest in the murder and fire investigation.
“He is known to frequent the Fargo area, Detroit Lakes, White Earth and the Minneapolis metro area.”
He is known to wear a pony tail and be clean shaven.
“It is fair to characterize this individual as having a lengthy criminal history, a willingness to be confrontational, and escape police.”
Investigators would not say how John Cadotte and Megan Londo died. Were they murdered first and a deliberate fire set to cover up the crime. Authorities don't want to say until they hear more from the medical examiner who could provide the clues.
“Obviously cause of death and anything forensically on the bodies.”
Some of those left homeless by that arson fire are slowly getting their lives back together. We first met Joseph Morlen and his 2-year old daughter Polly on Friday after fire forced them to flee their apartment.
After a day in a motel, Joseph and his daughter were able to get an apartment. The Morlens had some damaged property, but most is salvageable. This father says he feels fortunate to have escaped the fire.
“People downstairs, that is so unfortunate, so I consider us very lucky.”
Morlen says while he can save a lot of belongings, the clothes and other items need to be cleaned.
