The Fargo-Moorhead Engineers Club and MSUM host the annual event. Four classes of students compete from first grade to college age.
Students construct bridges using wooden toothpicks and glue. They are then weighted down until they break.
The strongest bridges win cash with a top prize of 125 dollars. The competition is part of National Engineers Week.
