WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A race promoter and management of the Red River Valley Fair might resume talks that could save the racing season at the West Fargo speedway.

Lease agreement negotiations between the speedway and Danny Schatz, father of World of Outlaws Sprint car champion Donny Schatz, collapsed last week over a dispute involving the number of race dates.

A representative of Schatz has sent a letter to the fair board expressing a willingness to resolve "the small differences" between the two sides.

No talks have been scheduled, but fair manager Bryan Schulz says he is optimistic the differences can be resolved.
