Brad Crabtree launched his campaign in Fargo.

His number one priority will be to protect consumers and keep rates affordable. Crabtree says the best way to do that is to advance energy efficiency in the state by having a clear policy, since there isn't one now.

“There can't be a bigger priority than that right now in the major recession that we're in. Whether it's a family or a small business or a company, everybody's margin is tighter and so this is just bread and butter economics.”

Crabtree says energy and technology costs will only go up if action to use less energy now isn't taken.
