(WDAY Sports) - Wrestling fans in the area have been talking all year about the potential showdown at the Fargodome for the dual team final, West Fargo against Bismarck for all the marbles. Duel at the Dome?
Wrestling fans in the area have been talking all year about the potential showdown at the Fargodome for the dual team final, West Fargo against Bismarck for all the marbles. The upstarts are trying to knock off the established champs and each team knows how good the other is.
“In wrestling, even if you think you're number one, you can't be overconfident. Bismarck is well prepared and they give it their all.”
“Definitely a threat; maybe the best dual we've had in five-six years.”
That's saying a lot. The Demons come into this state tournament on 143 dual winning streak and the last 10 dual state titles. Enter West Fargo, who finished ahead of Bismarck twice in different tournaments during the year.
“Definitely benefits us every time we see them, we've done better than them, so confidence is real high.”
“There’s no edge. We know we can compete with them.”
The Packers have shown there are few teams that can compete with them, and it hasn't gone unnoticed out west.
“They've proven to be very adept at pinning people. West Fargo, they're tough, they're the real deal.”
“Everyone knows they're the top team, so if we went out there and knocked them off it would be huge.”
“I guess we have some advantage as underdogs. We can go out there without pressure; they have their streak on the line.”
Each team will be challenged tomorrow West Fargo wrestles Dickinson, Bismarck takes on North.
