Breckenridge church to ship food for the needy
Breckenridge, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A Breckenridge church is spreading its message of generosity by shipping in tons of food to give to the needy.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
Starting next week, every fourth Monday, truckloads of food will be distributed at Inspiration Lutheran Church. It's called Ruby's Pantry.
A 15 dollar suggested donation is asked of families. About 350 families are expected to take part: totaling about one-thousand people a month. Depending on the size of the family, they will get up to 200 dollars worth of groceries. Things like turkey, bread, vegetables, fruit and dairy products.
"It might also be seasonal foods, for example, we just had Valentine's Day. There may be an inventory of stuff that's just more suited for Valentine's Day that the stores don't want."”
The food is donated from major corporations, like Jenny-O-Turkey.
