BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota has started a grant program to boost a growing wine industry.
Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says that in just a few years, North Dakota has gone from being the last state to commercially produce wines to having more than half a dozen licensed wineries.
He says the program will award grants up to $5,000 to help Pride of Dakota wineries grow their businesses and develop new markets.
Pride of Dakota is a state program that helps North Dakota companies promote and market their products. More than 400 companies are members.
