It's the one demand that Twins fans have asked for since the season ended. Sign Joe Mauer!
It appears that the front office is finally listening.
WCCO-TV in Minneapolis is reporting that Mauer and the Twins have reached a preliminary agreement on a 10-year contract extension.
Since the report came out, various outlets have stated that a deal is not done. Mauer is coming off his first MVP award and his 3rd batting title.
He's entering the final year of his contract which was scheduled to pay him 12.5 million. Stay tuned.
