Plea deal reached with Moorhead bus driver
(WDAY TV) - A Moorhead bus driver has reached a plea deal in a 2008 bus crash that killed a Pelican Rapids teen. Under the deal, 71-year-old Loren Ernst plead guilty to a gross misdemeanor of criminal vehicular operation and more serious charges were dropped.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
The parents of 16-year-old Jessica Weishair, who died in the crash, signed off on the deal. In April of 2008, Ernst was driving a charter bus home from Chicago when it crashed on I-94 near Albertville, Minnesota.
Under the plea deal, Ernst will spend no more than 30 days in jail. His sentencing is set for March 5th.
