In a news release, St. Paul police say they arrested a 19-year-old St. Paul man in the stabbing of Darius Derrick Maxwell, of St. Paul, around 12:05 a.m. Saturday.
Police say the 19-year-old broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend and confronted Maxwell about being her boyfriend and stabbed him.
Maxwell fled and responding officers found him at a nearby intersection. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
Police say the female had an order for protection from last month against 19-year-old.
Formal murder charges against the suspect are expected Monday.
