Steve Carbno can't remember ever having back to back major floods. That has the agency starting to meet and plan a more concise response. It's looking at logistics, like manpower, equipment, and food needs. Leaders think they're in good shape, even though they are still involved with long term recovery from last flood.
“Typically try to plan for the worse and hope for the best and again coming off a major event like last year, we felt this year we needed to be proactive rather than reactive.”
Last year, about 1000 volunteers served one million drinks and half a million sandwiches. The agency planned this early then.
