BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota man arrested on drug charges in Nevada more than a year ago has been convicted by a federal jury in Bismarck on a weapons charge.

Acting U.S. Attorney Lynn Jordheim says 49-year-old Michael Reed, of Rolette, was found guilty on a charge of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a fugitive from justice.

Jordheim says Reed was arrested on drug charges in the Las Vegas area in November 2008, posted bond and then failed to appear for a court hearing last March. Reed was arrested in Rolette last June on a Nevada warrant. Authorities say he possessed a weapon at the time of the warrant, when he was a fugitive.

Reed faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced April 23.
