The Force stay sharp during marathon season

(WDAY Sports) - Steve Johnson is walking something of a fine line these days.

On one hand, his Fargo Force hockey team has gone 14 games without a regulation loss and is now just five points behind division leader Omaha. But there are still 2 months left in a marathon regular season and a lot of his guys are playing for college scholarships.

Today I asked the coach if that keeps his guys going through the grind.

ā€œI’m not sure if anyone's got the right answer on that because it is a long season, but it's great for them. It's great for their development and we inform them that if you get this down, if you understand the mental toughness that it requires to play in this league, it puts you in a spot to be a real good player and a real sought after player.ā€

The Force are at Tri-city and Lincoln this weekend. Then next week a big 2 game home stand with first place Omaha.
