Mass food packaging effort to benefit Haiti
(WDAY TV) - Plans are underway in Hawley, Minnesota to provide some much needed, long term relief to the people of Haiti.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
Because of the expected need for feeding programs there, Hawley Lutheran Church is working with students at the school and the entire community to bring in the non profit group: Feed My Starving Children.
A similar event in Perham last year was very successful. Hawley organizers have to raise 46-thousand dollars to bring the charity to town where volunteers will mix and pack the food.
“So much of the time people want to know what they can do and tragedy happens and it is this idea of wanting to do something and this is a tangible way to help can be packaged here and shipped to Haiti.”
The mass food packing event is set for April 30th in Hawley. To donate money or get involved in the event, call Hawley Lutheran Church.
