Miquette Denie's (dee-nee) host family in Detroit Lakes says they heard that she's okay.

The 2006 Concordia graduate moved back to Haiti to work for a school in Port Au Prince, and raise money to help send kids to school. The Lee family says they got an e-mail from a friend who is in Haiti who personally saw Miquette.

“That was great news. I took a moment to get myself together and Mary was upstairs talking to some people, telling them we didn't know anything about Miquette, then came up and she ran downstairs to read that also.”

Lee says some in Haiti are calling Miquette "G-I Jane" because of how involved she is in the recovery efforts. She plans to return to D-L in June.
