Detroit Lakes, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Teachers have reached an agreement with the school board in Detroit Lakes for a new contract, just days before the January 15th deadline.
The contract will give teachers a 1.48 percent raise this year and 1.4 percent for the next school year.
The district will also increase health insurance contributions, long-term disability and severance pay over the next two years.
In all, the Detroit Lakes schools will pay out $854-thousand dollars for the new contract. It's a 5.81 percent increase compared to the last contract.
