Area college to continue commercial vehicles operation program
Thief River Falls, Minn. (WDAY TV) - An area college is continuing a program after a trucking company told it, it didn't have enough drivers.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
Northland Community and Technical College launched a 16-week commercial vehicles operation program last fall.
The program was nearly full. College leaders expect this next semester to have even more students. More than 100-thousand drivers are expected to be hired across the country the next few years.
"Normally programs run, students graduate, they finish and they just sort of are left to do their own thing, but the goal here is really to connect graduates and employers for a specific program."
A job fair is also being held on campus for students graduating in the program.
