Man turns himself in for $300 theft from widower
ST. PAUL – St. Paul police say a 40-year-old man has turned himself in for stealing $300 from an 88-year-old man who he had just withdrawn it for his wife’s funeral.
Police hadn’t issued a warrant for the man, but had released a picture from the U.S. Bank security camera and other information that matched his description.
The suspect is accused of taking three of five $100 bills from the victim, who had come from Florida to the Twin Cities for his wife’s memorial service. She had died on Christmas.
A U.S. Bank spokeswoman has said the bank reimbursed the $300.
The theft occurred Wednesday. St. Paul police say the suspect turned himself in Friday evening.
