(WDAY TV) - Plenty of little people with big dreams tonight as a visit by Santa is just hours away. Wish lists this year include everything from the typical doll or truck to something as simple as wanting a parent home for Christmas.

Santa is in town at West Acres Mall where a line of starry eyed children wait to share their wishes.

“Lots of excitement and every kid will leave here with a smile.”

Old St. Nick isn't too old for these youngsters to consider him a well-known friend. And a good one since he brings presents.

“He delivers them fast so he can get all around the world.”

“He likes cookies and milk!”

“I like his red suit.”

“He’s magical and he has reindeers.”

“He walks through walls, gets in windows; little one's too.”

He goes down chimneys too. He has a sleigh. It flies.”

These little guys aren't afraid to dream big. Some wishes are more personal, like Cassandra who wants her mom for Christmas.

“Always difficult because some families suffer through the season, but it's nice the kids can ask.”

An extra sparkle in Santa’s eye, for a child's wish list so real so simple he hopes any real Santa out there can hear her.

“One more thing about him, I like his elves. I never saw one, but I saw a picture.

Through a picture, or through your own eyes, it's a great time to believe in the magic of Santa.
