FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A March 11 trial has been set for man accused of hitting another man in the head with a golf club during an argument about slow play.

Authorities say 58-year-old Donald Sauvageau has pleaded not guilty to an aggravated assault charge.

Police said Sauvageau, of Fargo, was arrested at the Rose Creek Golf Course parking lot in August for allegedly hitting 55-year-old Albert Skar, of Mapleton, in the head with his sand wedge.

Sauvageau's attorney has said the incident was a case of self-defense and wouldn't have happened if Sauvageau hadn't been provoked.
