Fargo, ND (WDAY Sports) - Davies High School has its first head football coach. The district has given the job to Jason Thielges. He's been an assistant at south for the last 8 seasons, coaching running backs and defensive backs.

Davies Principal Jeff Schatz says he's got a great background and is ready to be a head coach. The Valley City State grad says what more could a guy want.

“It is a new high school, a unique opportunity to build that program from scratch with your own ways of doing things, and just have the opportunity to step out and be a head coach.”

Davies will play next fall with sophomores and juniors. The school won't be built until the year after.
