A Christmas present to save a life

(WDAY TV) - An unusual gift, but a Christmas present that possibly saved a life. After reading a story about timothy Mindl's need for a kidney in the newspaper, Warroad business teacher Sherri Harder wanted to donate one of her kidneys to Mindl, who was in her daughter's class.

Mindl was born premature and on the donor list for seven months. Harder says she just wanted to help.

"I’d rather do it anonymously because then it's like you a little secret with God that you did something special for someone and you didn't do it for the recognition."

When harder contacted Mindl, she said she was the only person who had shown interest and actually gone through with all the testing.
