VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — Valley City commissioners want the state Water Commission to come up with a comprehensive plan in case Devils Lake keeps rising.

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — Valley City commissioners want the state Water Commission to come up with a comprehensive plan in case Devils Lake keeps rising.

The city commission has passed a resolution calling on the state board to write an action plan with steps that could be taken at various elevations.

Valley City Commissioner Jon Wagar says Valley City wants to work with the city of Devils Lake to solve the flooding problem in the basin.

Assistant state engineer Todd Sando says North Dakota is concentrating on reducing the risk of a potential overflow through various measures that include increasing the size of the outlet.
