(WDAY Sports) - One of pro bowling's biggest stars says the sport is very much alive and well. Randy Peterson has been named one of the 50 greatest bowlers of all time.
He still bowls competitively, but is spending this winter on the ESPN PBA Tour broadcast team. He says the nationwide economy has actually been a boost for places like Sunset Lanes, but it hasn't helped the pro tour.
“Bowling is still one of those affordable sports people can still do. As far as the tour goes, I mean we're in the same boat as every other professional sport. We're struggling to get sponsorship dollars and so that's the big challenge for us.”
Pederson is in town as a product spokesman for storm bowling balls.
