AUSTIN, Minn. (AP) — The Austin Police Department nabbed a couple of sticky-fingered 9-year-olds after the mom of one reported them for stealing.

Police say the young boy and girl raided two parked cars Saturday, and took two $1 bills and a credit card. The girl's mom reported the crime.

Officers went to the boy's house. He told them it was the girl's idea.

The stolen items were recovered and returned. Police Chief Paul Philipp says the kids are too young to be charged in court, but that some type of counseling is possible.
