Fergus Falls, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A Fergus Falls man is headed to jail for burning down his own home, more than three years later. An otter tail county judge sentenced 55-year old Ray Anthony Williams for a felony arson charge.
He must also pay about $202 thousand dollars in restitution for insurance payments to his spouse. A neighbor spotted the fire at Williams' home in September of 2006 and called police.
At the time, it was believed to be a hate crime, because a note was found on his pick-up with a racial slur. But it later came out that he put the note on his own pick up.
