Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A small business in downtown Fargo is proving it can withstand the troubled economy by expanding. Dozens of community leaders packed into Intelligent Insites for an open house.

The software company helps to save millions of dollars and improve safety and efficiency at health care facilities. It uses sensors, like pendants on patients, to track their movements and those of staff and inventory. Intelligent Insites is the first company like this in North Dakota.

“There is competition. We are competing on a global level and so the kind of companies that we’re looking at is from Europe, the Middle East, but we're competing against the largest companies out there for the largest types of hospitals and senior care facilities in the nation.”

The company has doubled in size since March and its founders are all from North Dakota.
