WISHEK, N.D. (AP) — A couple in Wishek are at odds with the city over a wind turbine they put up in their back yard.
Larry and Jeanne Walth put up the 39-foot tower in June. The city says the turbine does not meet zoning codes and that the Walths are subject to fines if they do not take it down.
Larry Walth says he will fight the order because he thinks the turbine complied with city ordinance when it was installed.
City Attorney Richard Herr disagrees and says he will recommend the city go after a court order if the Walths do not take down the turbine.
