(WDAY TV) - Some retailers are getting tough on returns. A media report says fraud is on the rise, and stores are preparing.
Target made its return policy stricter this year. It now limits returns without a receipt to 70 dollars worth, every 12-months.
Target recommends getting gift receipts for all of your items and using a credit card or gift card, because items purchased that way can be looked-up in the store's computer.
“It's made it harder for a lot of companies, so companies have to cover themselves too, but we want to make it right for our guests.”
Colleen also suggests making your returns as soon as possible, to avoid long post-Christmas lines.
