(WDAY TV) - The wet fall is now hitting propane supplies. Near Kindred, dealers are having to ship in the gas from hundreds of miles away. Dakota Ag. Co-op in Kindred nearly ran out of propane last week because so many farmers have to dry their wet crop.
Supplies are being trucked in and sent by rail from Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas. Nearly 400-thousand gallons have been brought in. Suppliers say this is the first time they've ever had to get this much propane from out of state.
"Last year wasn't even close to what this year has been; both from the farmers' standpoint and the supply standpoint."
Most years, suppliers don't have to get any propane trucked in.
