(WDAY Sports) - Chris Coste has gotten his holiday wish. He's agreed to terms on a contract with the New York Mets.
He's guaranteed a spot on the 40 man roster; the Mets were the only team to offer that. Coste spent half of last season in Philadelphia and half in Houston after the Phillies put him on waivers. Coste told me by phone today the Mets have some money and may bring in another catcher, but it's a gamble I’m willing to take.
“They’ve seen me play more than any other team out there. If I end up in the minors, my pay won't take such a drastic hit.”
