DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Bond has been set at $50,000 cash for a 43-year-old Dickinson man arrested after a weekend standoff.
Authorities say Scott Stockert held them at bay at his home for an hour Saturday before coming outside and being arrested. He also allegedly pointed a loaded gun at officers and threatened to shoot them.
Lt. Dave Wallace says officers went to Stockert's home after getting a report of a domestic dispute. Residents in the area were evacuated, and nearly 20 officers converged on the scene.
Stockert is charged with felony reckless endangerment. During his bond hearing, he said he plans to plead not guilty and to represent himself in court. He faces up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine if convicted.
